With over 20 years of experience training and studying karate, Liam is a firm supporter of karate being a lifelong journey. He spent 15 years training in Shito-Ryu, obtaining the rank of Nidan, and is currently training in Shotokan. He was the Manitoba Provincial Champion in both the kumite and kata events at the age of 18, and represented Manitoba at the 2012, 2013 and 2015 Karate Canada National Championships, held in Toronto and Vancouver.
Liam tries to continuously evolve his karate knowledge and strategy, and has dabbled in cross training with other martial arts, such as judo, to help strengthen his overall martial arts experience. He actively trains and teaches karate today, specializing in kumite. Liam is a firm believer that karate should be accessible and beneficial to all who want to study, train, or compete. Through his teaching of kumite classes, he aims to share his experiences and knowledge with others, helping them on their martial arts journeys.
