Karate Manitoba operates through its’ committees. These committees oversee and implement guidelines that provide the operational structure for Karate Manitoba.

 

Committees

NCCP Committee

To oversee the development, communication and implementation of NCCP programs in the province of Manitoba and to provide developmental support to instructors not covered in style-specific instructor training.


Officials Committee

To recruit, develop and evaluate provincial officials.  To increase the quantity of officials and to improve and set a high standard of officiating in Manitoba.  To assist coaches and athletes as requested.  To keep up to date with the WKF rules and make amendments to the provincial rules of competition.  To assist and perform other duties or tasks as requested by the Board of Directors.


Sanctioning Committee

To develop, maintain and implement the Karate Manitoba Sanctioning policy, application and oversee all Karate Manitoba sanctioned Competitions.


High Performance Development Committee

To oversee the development, communication and implementation of LTAD programs, including Karate Manitoba’s  High Performance Elite and Development Athlete Training programs.  Operating under the Karate Canada and WKF (World Karate Federation) guidelines, this committee will optimize all aspects of opportunity and support for high level recruitment and high performance training in Manitoba karate.


Medical Committee

Working in conjunction with the Sanctioning Committee, the Medical Committee ensures minimum Provincial Safety standards are applied with all HP training and Karate Manitoba Sanctioned Competitions.


AWAD Committee – (Athletes With a Disability )

Working in conjunction with the NSO (National Sport Organization), Karate Canada, to follow the COC mandate, this committee will work to develop athletes to compete at the regional and national competitions.


Grassroots Committee

To increase participation and promote the growth of karate in Manitoba, to enrich inter club relations and communications and to promote Karate Manitoba programs province –wide at the club level.
